  4. Now we have it all. It is time for promotion.
let’s look through the term ‘promotion’ and see what consist of that. I am going to speak about the promotion now.

Promotion is a specific act of advertising a product or service with a specific time and budget.

When companies create a product then immediately it needs some actions to promote and sell the product.
What are these actions?

Online marketing example.

facebook advertising

If we have created a new drink. So what are the actions for promotion?
We turn to social media platforms like ‘Facebook’ and put ads. Here it is important to create a video ad to appeal to customers as content is very important. After we enter the add section of Facebook, we begin defining our target market. Let’s say girls whose ages are from 20-30, who are interested in art and photographs. Then we define a budget and duration. For example 5 dollars and 2 days.

Blogging type of promotion.

Let’s say we are promoting a new online SEO tool. Then what are the promotion actions for blogging?
At first, we need a good and competitive writer, who have deep knowledge and writing skills. We begin with keyword research and find out the main keywords. And just writing a beautiful blogpost with more than 2000 words.
From 5 to 10 blogs can be written for product promotion.

Promotion for restaurants.

Let’s say I have a restaurant and a new dish is added in the menu. So we need some kind of promotion for the dish. We can advertise it with social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram or we can just tell the waitress to advertise it while speaking to a client. The new dish can be beautifully pictured in the menu so that everybody could see it.

And so, what is the difference between marketing and promotion?

Marketing is a general and global term. It is used any time while we speak about business and advertisement and everything connected to products and services.
Instead, promotion is a specific act of advertisement for a product or service. It has a specific time and budget. Marketing is general but promotion is specific. This is the main difference between these 2 terms.
